OMNNI provided architectural design services for a U.S. Customs Border Protection Facility at the Appleton International Airport. Design includes renovations to the existing general aviation FBO building to house the new facilities, a building addition, as well as alterations to the existing office area. The project improves overall building aesthetics and function. Programmed spaces include new entry and exit vestibules, passenger waiting and processing areas, offices, security rooms and accessible toilet rooms.
Structural design included:
• Steel joist and steel moment framed building addition on standard foundations
• Addition of a cantilevered mesh and polycarbonate covered steel stair enclosure
• Replacement of existing masonry bearing walls supporting a precast second floor with steel frames on new foundations in remodeled building
