OMNNI provided design and construction administration for the reconstruction of two miles of STH 96 through an urban corridor in Appleton, Wisconsin. The project included intersection capacity analysis at eight signalized intersections and traffic studies with signal warrant analyses at two locations.
The Community Sensitive Design also included development of way-finding signage, and identification of lighting and terrace design elements. The project involved extensive coordination with the Wisconsin Design Committee, which is made up of business owners, Appleton Northside Business Association representatives, and city staff.
OMNNI also provided real estate negotiation for 133 acquisitions with about a dozen parcels with sign relocations issues. Six parcels had complicated issues involving site/parking situations.
