OMNNI honored with Outstanding Highway Construction Award

OMNNI Associates was recently recognized for their expertise in providing construction administration services for the STH 96, Fox River Bridge replacement project in Wrightstown, Wisconsin.  The project received the “Outstanding Highway Construction Award” in the Structure Category > $2,000,000 from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT).  The award was presented to the WisDOT NE Region (owner), OMNNI Associates (construction engineering services), and Lunda Construction Company (prime contractor).

The award ceremony was held during the Wisconsin Transportation Builders Association/Wisconsin Department of Transportation Contractor-Engineer Conference Awards Banquet at the Madison Marriott-West in Middleton, Wisconsin on January 28.

Steve Seymour, construction project leader and Brad Gregorius, structural inspector were present to receive the honor along with representatives from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation NE Region and Lunda Construction Company.

The award–winning project included replacement of the STH 96, Fox River Bridge with a new bridge constructed on a new alignment south of the existing bridge in Wrightstown, Wisconsin. The bridge construction included a 14-span, concrete girder bridge over the Fox River (7 spans), over CTH ZZ (1 span) and over land including an environmentally sensitive area on the east side of the river (6 spans).  Roundabouts were constructed at both approaches to the bridge.  Accommodations for bikes and pedestrians were included, as well as aesthetic features that complement the surrounding community and its heritage. Look-outs on each side provide a place for pedestrians to rest and view the Fox River.
