Geotechnical and materials testing engineers and technicians provide soil parameters for foundation, slab and pavement design along with project construction recommendations based on the soils encountered.
OMNNI is equipped with its own laboratory that meets the requirements set forth in ASTM:C1077 for concrete and aggregate testing and ASTM: D3666 for asphalt mix testing. The Laboratory is nationally accredited through the AASHTO Accreditation Program and participates in the AASHTO Proficiency Sample Program.
OMNNI provides testing of concrete including concrete maturity testing which is used to estimate the in-place strength of concrete in buildings and structures. This method of testing can help shorten construction schedules and reduce costs.
Materials testing staff has the training and experience required to satisfy testing and engineering requirements for many different types of projects, including testing on Wisconsin Department of Transportation "Quality Management Program" (QMP) projects.
When an engineer designs a building, road, runway, or other structure, the final product can only be as good as the subsurface and materials proposed for use. As these designs become more and more sophisticated and expensive, increased engineering involvement and more frequent and timely testing of materials becomes that much more important to produce a quality, lasting product.
Our in-house geotechnical professionals have experience with varying subsurface soil and water conditions and have provided site recommendations including deep and shallow foundation systems and various techniques or ground modifications/improvement systems that provide soil stability and foundation/pavement support.
We also provide a variety of engineering and testing services to ensure conformance to project specifications, identify problems and provide solutions prior to and during construction.
OMNNI’s lab is nationally accredited through the AASHTO Accreditation Program and participates in the AASHTO Proficiency Sample Program.
